It is no secret that China’s retail scene is highly driven by e-commerce, which has been grown furiously. Of the more than 700 million internet users to date, more than 500 million are internet buyers. Total online transactions through cross-border e-commerce in China hit RMB 3.6 trillion for the first half of 2017, a number that continues to grow at a pace of 30.7 per cent y-o-y.
With e-commerce retail sales accounting for 20 per cent of the total retail sales for consumer goods in China, Singapore companies would do well to find out more from e-commerce industry experts on the latest e-commerce landscape in China, and learn to tap on such opportunities to take their businesses global.
